Delta

About the Chapter
Delta Chapter was the first chapter to be chartered outside of the United States and the first chapter to be chartered in what would become the Midwest Region.
During a trip to Toronto in 1908, Jewel Eugene Kinckle Jones met a number of students whom we felt would be good candidates for membership into the fraternity. After some discussion, eight men were initiated into Alpha, making it is the 4th Chapter of the fraternity. Among the charters of Delta Chapter are: Brothers Robert MacNasseh Mahlangeni, Keith Myrie Benoit Simon, John Augustus Cottam. Ferdinand Lee Barnett Jr., Wilmot Amos Burgess, Jousha Need and Theodore Maseza Kakaza.
The chapter survived for a number of years until it was moved to Houston-Tilliston College in Austin, Texas in 1938.
