Alpha Eta

The Alpha Eta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. was founded at Harvard University on January 21, 1922 by Brother Raymond Alexander. Due to low enrollment of African American students the chapter went inactive. The chapter was later moved to Stowe Teachers College on January 17, 1942 by Brothers Warren Brunson, John Buckner, Odell Clark, Valmore Goines, Earl Hunter, Dr.George H. Hyram, James Knight, Calvin Price and Walter Ray. Over the years, Alpha Eta members have played a prominent role in the St. Louis community as student leaders on their respective campuses or with prominent roles in civic endeavors. As a city-wide chapter, Alphamen are selected from all of the four-year accredited colleges in St. Louis, including: Washington University; St. Louis University ;Harris Stowe State University, University of Missouri-St. Louis; Fontbonne University; Webster University; and Lindenwood College.
