Gamma Rho Lambda

Gamma Rho Lambda has a long history of doing the work of Alpha through efforts in the community and the making of better men. Chartered by 15 influential leaders in the city of Gary, Indiana, the chapter established its presence through the Alpha Gardens project aimed at providing affordable housing for minorities within the city. The chapter also started a Debutant Cotillion in 1956 that provided activities and opportunities to empower young ladies during the pivotal transition between high school and college. Gamma Rho Lambda has continued to uphold a tradition of engagement in the community and being the representation of the strong and positive male image. They are deeply involved in voter registration efforts to help educate unregistered voters on the power of their vote. The chapter is also a key player in the restoration and beautification of the city of Gary though the local Adopt-A- Highway program where they are responsible for a 3-mile strip of a major highway.
