Epsilon Delta

The Epsilon Delta Chapter was chartered on January 22, 1958, at Kent State University and served as the only Black Greek organization recognized on campus during that period. Notable achievements have been made by chapter members, including successful integration into athletics and faculty roles.

Over the years, the chapter has established itself as a prominent presence on campus, presenting awards for excellence to university departments and programs at the Black United Student’s Annual Renaissance Ball and Pageant, founding the Oscar Ritchie Furniture and Development Fund (a campus renovation initiative), organizing the 1st Annual Statewide Poetry Competition “Words With a Purpose,” and hosting the Ohio District Conference. The chapter has earned numerous honors, including the Community Excellence Award and Fraternity of the Year.
