Alpha Iota Lambda

Alpha Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. was chartered on January 9, 1928. The members of Alpha Iota Lambda Chapter have sought to carry out the aims of the Fraternity and in doing so have taken an active part in the Greater Charleston-Institute community and the affairs of the community in which they live, through civic affairs, religious, educational, or political duties. Additionally, the chapter has participated in and supported National and Regional Alpha programs. The Brothers of Alpha Iota Lambda seek to continue that legacy. They are a collection of community leaders in the fields of Government, Law, Business, Education, Medicine, Religion, and Social Justice. They seek to be an asset to the community, to be “a hand up” to the youth by giving thousands of dollars in scholarship, having community programing teaching basic life skills, and getting involved in matters that affect the lives of our people.
