Alpha Rho Lambda

About the Chapter

Alpha Rho Lambda Chapter was chartered on December 21, 1929, by Theodore M. Berry. The charter members were Charles P. Blackburn, H. Sherman Manuel, E.A. Calloway, W. Woodlin, Randolph Porter, and K.M. Williams. After a period of dormancy, Alpha Rho Lambda was reorganized in October 1937, marking a new era of activity and impact. At the reorganization meeting, eighty brothers gathered to revive the chapter’s presence in the city. In 1979, the Alpha Rho Lambda Education Foundation, Inc. was created to provide financial assistance and guidance to high school students pursuing higher education. Alpha Rho Lambda’s commitment to community service and leadership was further recognized in 1996 when the chapter was named the District of Ohio Alumni Chapter of the Year. Today, Alpha Rho Lambda stands as a beacon of excellence, fostering brotherhood, mentorship, and service throughout Columbus and beyond.
