Beta Zeta Lambda
About the Chapter
Beta Zeta Lambda, the Alumni Chapter in Jefferson City, Missouri, was chartered in 1938 by brothers who were on the faculty and staff of Lincoln University. One of these brothers, Hadley Hartshorne, had been a charter member of the college chapter Alpha Psi in 1930. The other charter members were Brothers Cecil Herriot, B.T. McGraw, Walter Talbot, G. Robert Cotton, Ucecil Maxwell, Armistead S. Pride and Joseph Johnson. Prominent members of the fraternity have been guests of Beta Zeta Lambda Chapter. Brother Paul Robeson was feted after a concert in Jefferson City. Later Brother Duke Ellington was honored at a reception following a concert at the University. General President Charles Teamer was the Principal Speaker at the Chapter’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 1988. Ten Years later, General President Adrian Wallace delivered the 60th Anniversary Address.
