Zeta Rho

Zeta Rho was chartered on May 9, 1969 on the campus of Indiana State University. Six educated men are credited with the construction of our dear chapter: Bro. Wayne Brewster, Bro. James Billard, Bro. Herman Jiles, Bro. Fred Henderson, Bro. Daryl Anderson, and Bro. Charlie Brown.

In a world of much fighting, argument, disagreement, and rebellion, the Alphas on campus were for uniting, binding, and solidifying. The men of Alpha Phi Alpha chose 1970 as the year to build a strong position at ISU. They joined other Black Greek Letter Organizations in participating in the Homecoming dance and a Sweetheart Ball. They also conducted their annual Martin Luther King, Jr. scholarship fund drive. This money was put in a fund for a qualified student in need.

The key focus areas of the chapter include scholarship, fellowship, and service. The chapter hosts “Adopt a Family” programs, food drives, and “Alpha Week” events. Zeta Rho was named 2025 College Chapter of the Year at the Indiana District Convention.
